Purpose
Use Separate Floors to divide a single floor element into
multiple individual floor elements while retaining the original geometry. This
workflow is commonly used to separate landscape, hardscape, planting, paving,
and surface construction areas into distinct components that can be
independently scheduled, edited, specified, and coordinated.
Separating floors improves model management, quantity
reporting, phasing, material assignment, and construction
documentation.
Prerequisites
Before using Separate Floors:
- A floor element exists within the project.
- Floor boundaries have been reviewed and
approved.
- Required floor types have been created.
- Areas requiring separation have been
