ArtisanRV

Other Utilities

The Other Utilities category contains a collection of specialist tools that support a variety of workflows within CS ArtisanRV. While these commands do not belong to a specific feature area such as planting, terrain modelling, or site furniture, they provide valuable functionality that can improve productivity, streamline project coordination, and assist with model management and documentation.

Many of these tools have been developed in response to practical challenges encountered by landscape professionals working within Revit and multidisciplinary BIM environments. They address common tasks that would otherwise require multiple manual operations, helping users work more efficiently while maintaining model accuracy and consistency.

The utilities included in this section range from selection and annotation tools through to model analysis, floor management, data import, and interoperability functions. Whether you need to identify model elements along a defined path, place spot elevations quickly, import schedule data, analyse shadow impacts, manipulate floors, or prepare models for data exchange, these tools provide focused solutions to specific project requirements.

The following utilities are included within this category:

  • Select Items on Line
Select model elements that intersect or align with a specified line -Select items on line

  • Place Spot Dim
Quickly place spot dimensions and level annotations within views - Place Spot Dim

  • Import Schedules
Import external schedule data into the project environment -Import Schedules

  • Shadow Coverage
Analyse and visualise shadow impacts within landscape and site designs -Shadow Coverage

  • Floor Tools
Access additional commands for creating and managing floor geometry -Floor Tools

  • Separate Floors
Split and manage complex floor assemblies and floor-based landscape elements -Separate Floors

  • IFC Export Mappings
Configure IFC export classifications and mappings to support BIM data exchange and interoperability -IFC Export Mappings

  • Insert Family
Import and place predefined families within the project model.

Within this section of the Help system, you will learn how to use these supporting tools, understand their workflows, and apply them effectively within your projects. Although diverse in purpose, each utility has been developed to extend Revit's capabilities and provide practical solutions to everyday modelling, documentation, and coordination tasks encountered by landscape professionals.
