Purpose
Use Fill Floor Voids to automatically identify and fill
internal voids or openings within floor geometry. This workflow helps create
continuous surfaces for landscape modelling, hardscape design, terrain
conversion, quantity calculations, and construction documentation.
Fill Floor Voids is particularly useful when imported,
generated, or edited floor elements contain unwanted openings that prevent
accurate scheduling, area calculations, or surface coordination.
Prerequisites
Before using Fill Floor Voids:
- Floor elements have been created or imported into the
project.
- Floor geometry has been reviewed for unwanted internal
voids.
- Required floor types are available within the
project.
- Surface design and grading requirements have been
established.
- Relevant views and visibility settings are
enabled.
Outcome: The project is ready for floor
repair and surface optimisation.
1. Review the Floor Geometry
- Open the project model.
- Identify floors that contain voids or
openings.
- Review:
- Floor boundaries
- Internal openings
- Surface continuity
- Shape-edited geometry
- Associated site elements
- Determine whether each void should be retained or
filled.
Outcome: Areas requiring repair have been
identified.
2. Assess the Purpose of the Voids
- Review the design intent of each opening.
- Identify whether the void represents:

- A planting opening
- Imported geometry errors
- Unwanted modelling gaps
- Confirm which voids require filling.

3. Launch the Fill Floor Voids Tool
- Open the Terrain Tools workspace.
- Select the Fill Floor Voids command.
- Select the floor element containing the
voids.

4. Select Voids to Fill
- Review all identified internal voids.
- Select the voids that should be converted into solid
floor areas.
- Verify that intentional construction or design openings
remain excluded.

5. Execute the Fill Operation
- Run the Fill Floor Voids command.
- Allow ArtisanRV to generate floor geometry within the
selected openings.
- Review the results upon completion.

existing floor.

continuous floor surfaces.
6. Verify Floor Continuity
- Review the modified floor in:
- Plan views
- Sections
- 3D views
- Confirm:
- Surface continuity is maintained.

- Select the newly created floor areas.
