Purpose
The Seed Mixes function is used to create,
manage, edit, and apply seed mix specifications within an Artisan project. Seed
mixes provide a standardised method of defining seeding requirements for
landscape schemes, ensuring consistency across planting plans, schedules, and
project documentation.
Standard Workflow
1. Open the Seed Mixes Manager
Before creating or modifying seed mixes:
- Open the project drawing.
- Navigate to the Seed Mixes management
tool.
- Review any existing seed mixes already assigned to the
project.
- Confirm project-specific requirements and specification
standards.
2. Create a New Seed Mix
When defining a new seed mix:
- Select New Seed Mix.
- Enter a unique seed mix name.
- Add a clear description of the intended use.
- Define the seed mixture composition.
- Enter any relevant application rates or specification
information.
- Save the seed mix to the project database.
3. Edit an Existing Seed Mix
When project requirements change:
- Select the required seed mix.
- Open the edit function.
- Update the composition, description, specification, or
application data.
- Save the changes.
- Verify that all associated project information reflects
the updated mix.
4. Assign Seed Mixes to Design Areas
Once seed mixes have been created:
- Select the planting or seeding area.
- Assign the appropriate seed mix.
- Confirm the correct area receives the correct
specification.
- Review any calculated quantities generated by the
software.
5. Review Seed Mix Data
Prior to issuing drawings or schedules:
- Confirm seed mix names are correct.
- Verify compositions and specification notes.
- Check application rates and quantities.
- Ensure all project areas have the correct mix
assigned.
- Review schedule outputs for completeness.
6. Generate Project Documentation
When preparing project deliverables:
- Generate planting or seeding schedules.
- Review seed mix information appearing in
schedules.
- Confirm nomenclature matches project
standards.
- Check quantities and notes.
- Include schedules in the drawing issue
package.
Recommended Standard Practice
- Review existing project seed mixes.
- Create any new seed mixes required.
- Assign mixes to the appropriate seeding
areas.
- Verify compositions and application rates.
- Generate schedules.
- Perform a final quality review before
issue.
