Purpose
The Drawing panel provides the core tools
used to create, edit, organise, and manage drawing content within an Artisan
project. These tools support efficient production of landscape design and
technical documentation.
Standard Workflow
1. Prepare
the Drawing Environment
Before creating or modifying drawing content:
- Open the correct project drawing.
- Confirm drawing units, scale, and coordinate
settings.
- Verify the appropriate layers are available and
active.
- Ensure project standards and templates have been
applied.
2. Create Drawing Elements
Use the drawing tools to add new design
information:
- Select the required drawing command.
- Specify insertion points or drawing
locations.
- Define dimensions, geometry, or other required
parameters.
- Complete the placement of the drawing object.
- Review the object for accuracy.
3. Modify Existing Elements
When changes are required:
- Select the object or objects to be modified.
- Choose the appropriate editing command.
- Apply the required changes.
- Check the result against the design intent.
- Confirm layers and properties remain
correct.
4. Organise Drawing Content
Maintain drawing standards by:
- Using the correct layer structure.
- Assigning appropriate object properties.
- Grouping related drawing elements where
required.
- Keeping annotation and design information clearly
separated.
5. Review Drawing Presentation
Before issuing or sharing the drawing:
- Check visibility of all required elements.
- Verify linework, symbols, and annotation display
correctly.
- Review plotting settings and scale
representation.
- Confirm there are no duplicate or unnecessary
objects.
6. Save and Update Project Records
Once changes are complete:
- Save the drawing.
- Regenerate the drawing if required.
- Update project documentation and revision
records.
- Confirm the drawing is ready for coordination or
issue.
Recommended Standard Practice
- Prepare the drawing environment.
- Create new drawing elements.
- Modify and refine design information.
- Organise layers and object properties.
- Review the final presentation.
- Save and issue according to project
procedures.
